Journalism once again received well-deserved recognition during the third edition of the “Honduras es Así” Tourism Reporting Contest 2025, organized by the Honduran Institute of Tourism (IHT). This competition highlights the creativity, rigor, and dedication of those who showcase the country’s cultural, natural, and historical richness.

The awards ceremony, held on Thursday, September 25, reaffirmed the importance of promoting Honduran tourism through both journalistic and digital storytelling. The event was attended by IHT authorities, including Deputy Minister Luis Chévez and Secretary General Mario Nuila, who presented the awards and honorary mentions.
The selection of entries was carried out by a specialized jury made up of Arturo Sosa, bachelor in Communication Sciences; Dr. Noé Leiva, journalist; and tourism expert Reynaldo García, M.A. The contest also recognized Flor Serrano from Q’ Hubo TV in the television category, and Rosa María Pineda from Revista Hibueras in the digital media category.

In the content creator section, first place went to Jericca Warren, while the newly introduced student category highlighted the work of Samuel Aplícano from the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH).

Honorary mentions were awarded to communicators across different formats, including Manuel Menjívar (Canal 10), Guadalupe Baca (La Tribuna), Edwin Gómez (El Diario de Honduras), student Darlin Salgado, and content creator Kevin Ávila.
